When Ramesh suddenly disappears, Shyam travels to Singapore to unravel the mystery behind his absence, and is himself embroiled in a mystery, as well as arrested for a murder, he claims he did not commit.

    Charming lead actors and fun songs/dances make this an entertaining Bollywood musical murder mystery with beautiful b/w location cinematography all around Singapore in 1960. Despite a few terribly weak comic relief scenes featuring the silly office manager of the protagonist's company, its plot moves along at a pleasant leisurely pace. The "McGuffin"concerning a treasure map being sought after by an evil gang is done in the tradition of Saturday afternoon serials ----- we all know the hero and true love will triumph in the end, but it's amusing to see exactly how this eventuates. Obviously this doesn't contain brilliant dialogue, but it is enhanced by lashings of good old fashioned escapism.
