It seems to me that Hollywood has been pushing out endless childish sequels with poor actors recently. Red Sparrow is none of those things. It shows a topical issue, gives its viewers lots of action and heart pounding moments. The actors are impressively good and take chances and push boundaries. I am impressed that films like this still exist.
This is a cold war thriller about a Russian of privilege being manipulated by the Russian state appatchiks to violate themselves and those around them. Deployed to fight the American enemy the beautiful and downright ideal Russian woman rolls up her sleeves to fight for herself above the enemy and so-called friend. In a world dominated by Star Wars 7 and 8, the eighteenth Marvel film and sixteenth DC comic film this film stands out. Although on its own merits there is quite a lot to see... unless you prefer to watch yet another JJ Abrams sequel or something.
This is a beautiful film ridden with Post Cold War era psychological warfare and intelligence services doubling down. So prepare for brutality and violence. On the flip side we have Jennifer Lawrence a beautiful maiden playing a Russian who deploys her feminine wiles to fabulous effect. Lovers of sexy and engaging women, exposing Russians' immoral habits and excuses and super powers fighting it out: here is a film for all of you (us). The answer: both
Shows how close to truth this film is. It is not a documentary however. It is lots of fun. Has a lot of action, violence and sex (the Russian FBI arrested had moved in with a Conservative leader). The main actor and actress give it their all and put ina fine performance. Yet nothing is as brutal as the film's beginning where hopes are literally shattered.
Firstly, this is an amazing film. It stands out in a world full of childish sequels, prequels and bland and boring movies. Finally, a film for adults with action, intrigue, psychological warfare and sex. I am glad they still make films like this. Secondly, and this is the good news part or rather second piece of good news, all the Russian hackers and bots whose life is comprised of not doing constructive are not very good. We have proof here. They have flooded this site and others according this film bad reviews, but given their command of 'English' we can spot them so easily and breathe a sigh of relief that they are so obvious. Clearly, Russian motherland defenders (who do nothing to improve their decrepit country all day and instead sit behind their computers 24/7) are pathetic. Here are examples just from the top page of reviews here: "Red rate for red movie" "This is so money waste to watch this." A reviewer called 'english'_artist writes: "Porn movie or 'spie' movie?" or how about this: "blatant propaganda in 2018 DansGame " Dear Russians, put down the vodka bottle, turn off the laptop, step outside and pave a road or repair a bridge. They are all crumbling. Everyone else, this is an action-packed film in a sea of weekly Marvel films or boring sequels. Watch it.
