SYNOPSICS

Dabbe: Bir Cin Vakasi (2012) is a Turkish movie. Hasan Karacadag has directed this movie. Elcin Atamgüc,Nihan Aypolat,Pervin Bagdat,Su Burcu Coskun are the starring of this movie. It was released in 2012. Dabbe: Bir Cin Vakasi (2012) is considered one of the best Horror movie in India and around the world.

Turkish director Hasan Karacadag is something of an unusual case. In a nation that appears uncertain how to feel about its own history with exploitation film and generally reluctant to embrace genre film - though there are obvious exceptions - Karacadag has jumped headlong into the horror pool. The director first came to attention with the J-horror influenced D@BB, a surprise hit in Turkey that allowed Karacadag to move on to the more visually ambitious - and effects heavy - effort, Semum. Both film showcased Karacadag's growing ability to shock and terrify his audiences by taking the rich folklore of his country and pushing it to its dark extremes. And he's at it again with D@BB: Bir Cin Vakasi. The sequel to his original hit, this latest efforts puts away the Japanese influence in favor of a more Paranormal vibe, but the underlying mythology remains purely regional with the story following a Turkish family whose home is possessed by angry jinns.

  • A Stunningly Effective Horror Film; Dabbe:A Djinn Incident!

    tenebrisis2012-08-22

This is the real deal for 'found footage' horror fans. I know that,Horror films are something you really have to want to enjoy and yes This film really scared me!I went to the theater this weekend and saw it. I must say it is a great Turkish horror movie. The terror starts slow, develops the characters well, and progressively gets more suspenseful until it ends with it's shocking finale. Shortly the story is about a night invisible djinn(demon)stalker and a married sleepwalker woman, her husband, her daughter! Paranormal Activity clearly inspired this film,But dabbe:Bir Cin vakasi is easily 10 times more frightening than paranormal activity! As the same style; The entire thing is shot with a home video camera and some fixed security home cameras! The first question from the movie is;'Why djinns(demons) stalk people, and What is their reason of suddenly start to stalking an innocent woman? Then The movie ask another question to the audiences ;'Is Sleep walking a medical problem or its about djinns...?'Did you ever Wonder what Happens While You Sleep.....? Think about that;'Are Djinn vulnerable to magic?' Forget the movies that you had seen before like Wishmaster series or Alaaddin about djinns! The popular myth of the Djinn in the bottle is far removed from that of a Djinn and is only popularized in such a fashion by Hollywood and fantasy gamers. Djinns were usually created as malevolent in nature! Real Djinns are Real terror! ''expect my visit when the darkness comes. The night I think is best for hiding all!'' Th editing is very interesting you can feel the terror and You know the evil is there but you don't see it, just like normal real life haunting is usually. And the The ending....woo-ow...The ending is really scary as hell, brilliant and perfect.of course I won't spoil the ending, I will just say it was the best part of the whole film! I recommend this movie but keep sensitive children away. I think it will definitely bring about nightmares. If you are a horror fan and looking for a real terror then watch this film alone in the night in your room and Open the gates to the world of the Djinn. You will feel the Djinns presence in the room with you...! Recommended.

  • Pretty Scary: What happened to Ceyda T.?

I just came from the theaters after seeing 'Dabbe:Bir Cin Vakasi' and I thought that it was really good.It is Compelling and Creepy. we've seen too many found footage horror movies in the past few years. Some of them was good and some was terrible! But This film is an extremely suspenseful demonic story that really takes it up a notch because the "mockumentary" style puts you in the characters' shoes. The movie Allegedly inspired by a true story which occurred in Turkey's Ankara. Real events or not The movie is intelligently done in the fact that it shows you both sides of the story, how it could have been Jinn possession or sleepwalking? If you want to feel real scares you have to know something about the Jinns! So,let's talk about Jinn (or Djinn?)...How can I tell the difference between jinn and demons? It's often hard to tell the difference, as the jinns are artful at masquerades. Djinns exist in a parallel dimension in the physical world. They are "here" but in a place we can not normally experience. Djinns have their own language, they do speak just like people. Their own language sounds like a mixture of Aramaic languages and ancient tongues from the Middle East, such as Sumerian. They can attack to people, they can make noises, smells, apparition forms, and steal – objects that appear out of nowhere. When they wish to manipulate and control, they are capable of interfering in sleep. If you wonder the story just Forget the story; this movie is about the creepy nature of djinns... There is a lot of memorably scary scenes especially in last 5 minutes which gave me chills. The five main actors and child actress do a fine job and the controlled direction is pretty atmospheric too! You can be sure that "Dabbe: Bir Cin vakasi" has enough chilling moments not to be overshadowed by Oren Peli's "Paranormal Activity ". I recommend this movie to anyone who like fake footage movies and who wants a good scare because its pretty up there! The ending is freaky! If you plan on watching the movie make sure your not alone!!!

OMG i thought i'd take my wife to the cinema to watch this cos i heard that it was a pretty good movie, it scared us to bits, you won't be disappointed. The story started off slowly but steadily built up to the end. It makes you wonder if this movie will kick off a new generation of hit Turkish scary movies in the coming years by the same director. Its by far better than the Paranormal Activity movies that have recently taken the world by storm....... It a shame that this Turkish film will only be screened in some cinemas around the globe. This would of been a super hit for the director but only in Turkey.

  • What "Paranormal Activity" wanted to be: scary

    victoryismineblast2013-07-29

"Dabbe: Bir Cin Vakasi" is my first foray into Turkish horror. In fact I'm pretty sure it's the first Turkish movie I have seen. On the advice of a couple of fellow horror buffs I decided to give it a watch. I was not disappointed. Director Hasan Karacadag brings us a found footage/hand-held camera style fright-fest that at first seems to follow almost the exact same formula as the first "Paranormal Activity". A family sets up their house with cameras to record the nightly activity of the mother, who is having problems with her sleepwalking. The bedroom camera captures the mother standing there in the night while the camera fast-forwards the time away. Strange things start to happen all over the house; first, just to the wife, then to the rest of the family, including their friends when they come to visit. This is where the comparison to "Paranormal Activity" ends. What follows is a terrifying tale of demonic possession and a curse that threatens the lives of the family. The film is relentless as demonic voices and barely seen forces cause havoc all over the house. I was truly scared and literally on the edge of my seat for the last 3/4 of this movie. The hand-held camera work was really done to full effect, and the climax was truly frightening, with a cool camera-light strobe effect upping the scare factor. Forget the latest high budget Hollywood bore-o-rama horror rehash. See this instead!

  • Highly Recommended Horror From Turkey!

This is a movie in the "found footage" sub-genre of horror or "hand camera" sub-genre horror. Whatever you're more familiar with. Anyhow, this is about a young family living in rural Turkey. The Husband starts to document his Wife who has begun sleep walking. They decided to do this because it was dangerous for her and she didn't want to go be hospitalized to be examined for it. The periods in which they occur become more strange as the movie progresses as they involve spiritual healers and other seers to try and resolve the problem. For the sub-genre I was definitely very scared at parts. I like that it worked on creating a tense and scary atmosphere instead of solely jump scenes. I've seen my fair share of the sub-genre from movies like Rec, Noroi, Evidence, etc. This movie you can tell was very influenced by the Paranormal Activity movies but it adds some originality from its influence as well as style. However the setting and tone seems much more darker then those ones and more cultured and less American. Which work in its favour and also slightly against its favour too. The acting was great, no characters were annoying, perhaps a bit too much emphasis on the screaming at parts but what horror movie doesn't have that? The effects at some parts weren't as sharp as other found footage movies. However they were still above average for this genre as I've seen some TERRIBLE found footage movies with BAD special effects and for what this had sure it could have been better but it still wasn't that bad. It was its weakest point though. The story while not groundbreaking had enough substance to keep me interested throughout the whole movie and not make me lose focus for the most part. The plot could have developed a bit more faster in the beginning but it was still done with enough pace that it didn't bother me too much. I actually really enjoyed the props and occult props and story ideas that were implemented In short: If you use the correct formula with lights out, loud noise, big TV you'll be scared for sure and have a good time with this one. Just don't sabotage it by watching it in the day though.
