Bad Dad Rehab (2016) Reviews

  • Great movie

This movie showed different types of dads. It didn't bash men. None of the men knew how to be a dad except one dad that was a bad dad unintentionally. I really liked the movie. I think everyone should watch it. It is beneficial to women as well. Because both parents should be able to coparent and get along.

  • Excellent contribution to a serious social issue

We actually appreciated this movie as a realistic, well-portrayed exploration of a troubling social phenomenon. It clearly does not say these dads are "bad"-- rather they fall into negative conditioning in general due to the lack of father example in their own lives. We thought the movie reflected practical, optimistic hope for changing some sad family dynamics. Too many children are growing up without healthy father interactions and it becomes a vicious cycle. The direction was excellent, actors (both male and female) were highly believable and the movie in general gave some serious food for thought for what can be done to stop the vicious cycle.

  • Black men at bad dads and husbands

    sophiekra2017-03-19

This was a horrible film. It basically reinforces the stereotype that all black men are absentee fathers and husbands. The humor fell flat and the dramatic moments were the most comedic. With a few notable exceptions TV one is flooding the market with substandard films that play only to the lowest common denominator. It's time we raised the bar on what to expect from black television movies. This ain't it.
